This is a collaborative wiki that covers both the 2000 sitcom Girlfriends and its spin-off, The Game.
Girlfriends focuses on the lives of Toni Childs-Garrett (Jill Marie Jones), Maya Wilkes (Golden Brooks), Lynn Searcy (Persia White) and Joan Clayton (Tracee Ellis Ross): four young, strong women who face life's ups and downs together. Girlfriends aired between 2000 and 2008, with a total of eight seasons.
In The Game, Melanie Barnett (Tia Mowry-Hardrict) gives up an offer of admission to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore to follow her boyfriend Derwin Davis (Pooch Hall), a professional football player, to San Diego. She then realizes she has to learn how to balance both her lives as a med student and partner of a professional football player. The Game had a total of nine seasons, airing between 2006 and 2015.
Seasons 1 to 3 of The Game were included on Netflix in the U.S. on August 15, 2020, with Girlfriends following suit and becoming available there on September 11, 2020. A revival series of The Game has also been confirmed, currently in development and headed to the streaming service Paramount+.
